Thoughts on a Friday Afternoon

•Ahh... Time to take a deep breath.

•This past week has been a wonderfully quiet (and allergy filled) one.

•Lots of time spent with my little man, bopping around, riding bike, walking, playing at the park, ready books (over and over and over...).

•Tea with two lovely ladies by the name of Pickle ^_^

•Folded (and some not) laundry strewn across my living room. It can wait a minute.

•Little man is taking a fantastic nap... i really tired him out at the park this morning! *win*

•Artistic motivation running a little low, though i do have a couple little projects (and the wrapping up of two commissions) in mind... we shall see how they pan out and what other larger projects they may inspire. That's what i've heard about motivation... it comes, but it has to find you working! So i persist.

•I really, really (and i mean, REALLY) need to figure out how to use my sewing machine. It is time. I have those projects lining up at the door and absolutely no way of fulfilling them! It will happen!

•So excited to spend all day tomorrow in Tucson with my sweet friend Rikki on her birthday! We are going sans children and are going to thrift, eat, and chill! Can't wait!

•Thankful for my sister who inspires me in so many ways.

•On an[other] Agatha Christie reading kick. Freaked out my man when he saw "ABC Murders" and thought it was a "how to" or step by step to murder.. silly man. Good book. A little easy to predict, but Poirot as fantastic as ever.

•Two small trucks are parked next to be as i sit here in my bed. I do believe a small man left them here in his rush to his highchair this morning. Must be growing. Eating and sleeping so much does that to a boy named Ean.

•I think i just heard little waking sounds from the other room. Off to greet my little bear with hugs and kisses on his sweet, warm, post-nap cheeks and get ready to tire him out so he'll sleep this well tonight. Never a dull moment...what DID I do before he came around??

 Peace and Love.

Knit a Squillion

I have joined countless other in using my "leftover" (or not) yarn to make squares to send to Knit a Square who will then sew those squares together into blankets and distribute them to orphans in Africa. I love knitting like this! It's wonderful to make things for yourself or a loved one, but doing something for someone on the other side of the world who is suffering and has very little comfort in their life, suddenly to have a handmade gift is awesome! I get so excited when I think about and pray over the child[ren] who will receive one or more of the squares i have made and who i hope will enjoy the bright colors and soft feel of the yarn against their skin. I love those children... without knowing who they are, I want them to know that they are loved! If you have a little leftover yarn think about making up a square or two. Find out everything you need to know about this project here: http://www.knit-a-square.com/. It's a wonderful act of mercy and love. peace. abi
