Accomplished Today ( So Far...)

• Dropped off yet another job application. hoping and praying...
• Found a non - existant farmer's market.
• Didn't find either of two existing banks. Go me.
• Grocery Shopped
• Made progress in Anna Karenina WHILE exercising. I multitask... you have no idea
• Washed the man's work clothes
• Changed sheets. Mundane... I know.
• Loaded weekend dishes into the washer... so i let things go a little on the weekend. It wasn't a sin the last time I checked.
• Started dinner. Fried Chicken for the first time... wish me luck!
• And I even snuck in a little time to bask in some glorious afternoon sun we had after showers this morning... it's a mild ninety degrees today *grin*

Good day.

Better evening... just as soon as my man walks in the door!

Weekend Photos

I'm really thrilled that my orchid is blooming...

can ya tell???

As a rule I don't like to post pictures of myself, but this one is mainly to show off one of my favorite wardrobe pieces that you usually wouldn't see otherwise :-)

Blooming!

This is one of the orchid plants that Michael gave me as a gift on our engagement (that being about a year and a half ago) and now, lo and behold... it is in bloom!

Sight
• chartreuse framed mirrors on a cobalt wall
• a new orchid blossom opening to the world
• ... Burlington Coat Factory... (seen from across a parking lot and a wide road... ugh)
• wordless communication with that special someone


Sound
• air as it thrums through fan blades
• Owl City, Regina Spektor, A Fine Frenzy, Ingrid Michaelson, The Weepies, Missy Higgins, Laura Marling... summer tunes.
• Mannheim Steamroller Christmas music in July
• the voices of my husband, parents, siblings and friends
• rain hitting the roof and falling from the eaves
• crashing waves


Taste
• bread so fresh and moist that the raspberry jelly sinks in like on a hot pancake.
• coffee ice cream, coconut extract, chocolate chips, peanut butter and almonds all together... (also creating the most incredible allergy trigger... and so worth it!)
• it's so close I can almost....


Smell
• my man
• aforementioned fresh bread as it bakes
• clothes fresh out of the dryer
• the delicate fragrance of a freesia plant


Touch
• soapy water, dishes and a wash cloth. all together.
• pencils, sharpies or brushes at home in my hand
• the resistance of computer keys hitting home
• a fluffy marshmallow
